Prana, short for prana-shakti, is the insentient energy that animates everything. It is, in one way or another, responsible for all movements, expressions, and functions within us.
Prana is intimately connected to the breath and consciousness, and thus, of great importance to the practices of yoga. It is the foundation of all breathing practice of pranayama and yoga.
